A message from Susanne: I was proud to be a special education teacher in Guilford from 2012 to 2020 at the elementary level and then for the next couple of years providing individual OG based instruction to students in elementary, middle, and high school. For years, I have been immersing myself in various training such as Orton Gillingham (OG), Wilson, and through the Reading Specialist program at Southern Connecticut State University. I started out tutoring privately after school in homes, and in January 2020, opened up my first location so that students could come to my tutoring center, Shoreline Learning. In September 2020 I invited two amazing teachers to join me and expanded into a second space. Shoreline Learning quickly met the needs of numerous families and January 2022, we moved into a new building in Madison! In June of 2022, I resigned from Guilford Public Schools to focus on supporting families at Shoreline Learning full-time. It is an amazing place to teach and to learn. I have a feeling of pride and contentment every time I walk through the door. This is exactly what I was meant to do. I believe in making learning fun which ultimately builds a love for learning, confidence, and amazing growth. Some of my younger students say they come to play, while my older students say they come to grow. They are both correct. All students play, learn, and grow at Shoreline Learning. :-)  We have recently added Speech and Language supports as well as Occupational Therapy and now have a total of 8 passionate, highly qualified teachers! We offer consultation with districts, advocacy, and comprehensive evaluations.
